Clark Kent And His Super Friends: A Birthday Special

Orli, popularly known as Clark Kent of Batangas City’s leading radio station myBay Radio 104.7 fm, has organized and managed several events  in the past. That includes musical bar and resto parties as per insistent demands by the latter. He was even able to bring Jovit Baldivino in one of his events which others hardly get the chance to pocket such opportunity. But it’s just a piece of cake for Kent. And on the night of his birthday celebration, March 23, he was again able to write himself with screaming lines on Batangas City’s party culture and history.

And for that, let me give you some reasons why you should have not missed the party.

For one, the party was help at Jenina’s Garden Restaurant at Brgy. Libjo, Batangas City. Wait, that’s not the intriguing one. The amazing part is, he’s able to bring Batangas City’s best food caterers into one place! There’s Jenina’s Catering, Nilda Chua’s Catering, Argeos Catering and Ginazel’s Catering. You might think food flooded the event. No, don’t be misled. They just brought something special for Kent. Competition among them was left back home and came to the event with smile for each other.

This time, the Man of Steel’s revelry turned out to become one of the most intriguing happening in partying Batangas since he was able to bring into one roof the City’s notable figures and personalities –from Barangay to Provincial government officials, to businessmen, and down to closest friends. It was a melting pot of characters.

Kent might take his lifetime to thank the people who brought glitz and glamour to his birthday celebration. But in any case, this page can start returning them the favor. This is just the beginning and it will never come an end.

Being connected with myBay Radio 104.7 fm and working full time for Comet Magazine, his personal and professional working relationship with friends and clients never waned. And this resulted to sixteen (16) mouth-watering birthday cakes which one table alone cannot accommodate. To start with, there’s Dr. Melody Rivera of Britesmile Clinic; Adjie Tan of Great Fun Tutorial; Ludeth Cruz of Bel Piatto Café and Bistro; Tita Eng of Freshdough Bakeshop; April Gemelo of Le Breeze; Marc Ivan Tan of 1st Elite Fitness Center; and Gina and Luz Cunanan of Ginazel’s Catering.

Not to be left behind were Kent’s high school Brigitine friends back in 1984. Strengthening their bond with each other, some from Singapore, who went out their way to share Kent’s precious moment were Weng Plata,Wweng Panganiban, Gigi Kalalo, Shellane Domingo and Gado Baliwag, Engr. Cherry Abuzman Sampol and Juvy Calpito. His daughter’s Monique also brought along her friend Carnilda “Cang” Carpio from De La Salle Lipa.

Of all invitations he received, Senior Board Member Christopher De Leon just couldn’t turn down Kent. And to everyone’s surprise, Boyet, together with wife Sandy Andolong, Senior Staff Mr. Arevalo and former BM Peter Carandang, graced the occasion. Guess what? They were the early birds to open the affair’s curtains. And together with other well-wishers, he even performed a song! I say, that’s highly appreciable of TV and Provincial Capitol personalities. More respect for Sir Boyet De Leon.

And yes, the men of words and honor of The Friday Club showed the gentleman in them. They’ve marked their calendar and made their presence felt on the said event.

To mention more of the guests, and likewise thanking them. Thanks to Mrs. Letty Chua, Ruby Fajardo and family, Mrs. Mina MAranan and hubby, Coun. Segie Atienza, Coun. Dio Ferriols, Coun. Claudette Ambida, Coun Mando Lazarte, Mrs. Tess Lim- Ramirez, Emmie Medrano, Tita wham, Mr. Nilo Nebreja, Mr. Roweno Alforte fr the Mayor’s office of Lobo, and Mr. Allen Macaraig of Maptan.

And since it’s a merry-making night, song birds filled the garden with songs and music. Kudos to Dr Melody rivera, Nica Andal, Coun. Dio Ferriols, BM Boyet de Leon,  X 4 Zando, Batangas talents from the city hall which was a birthday gift from City Administrator Mr. Philip Baroja, Tikya of the Chubbies, and Brgy. Chairman Atoy of Brgy 13.

The event was made possible through the help of Kent’s friends like organizer Mabuena Rosales and host Dorothy Aclan. Photo shots were done by Dennis Perez, Roman Duenas and Nica Andal (Jenina’s Garden Restaurant owner’s daughter). Tarpaulin on the other hand was designed by DJ Marcus of 99.1 Spirit FM.
